The Policy applies in very rare circumstances when: 

• A student’s behaviour causes concern regarding the safety of others or materially impacts the learning environment of others; 
• There is reason to believe the behaviour is related to serious mental health or other similar issues. These similar issues could include, for example, addictions or other kinds of health issues (e.g., neurological impairment); 
• The University has tried to work with the student to provide accommodations, but these efforts have been unsuccessful, or the student has been unable to participate and cooperate in them.
